The First Snow of Fraggle Rock Is Weird But Cute

0

By Brandon Scott on Dec 24th, 2025

The First Snow of Fraggle Rock is super cute, but it’s not what I hoped it would be. I assumed that this was an introduction to whatever Fraggle Rock is for people who have never seen it—which includes me.

The Sisters Grimm: An Adorable Fairy Tale Show

0

By Brandon Scott on Dec 17th, 2025

The Sisters Grimm is a charming little cartoon that basically succeeds at everything it’s trying to do and does so with a surprising level of detail and consideration.

WondLa And How To Make Sci-Fi Kids Shows

0

By Brandon Scott on Dec 15th, 2025

WondLa is what a children’s television series should aspire to be. It’s kid-friendly but doesn’t disrespect its audience. It uses tropes but doesn’t fall into them completely. Despite having a very fleshed-out world to build, it doesn’t stop and shove exposition. At every point in the first three episodes, you are expected to pay attention to small details and look for answers to its many mysteries.

LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild The Galaxy – Pieces of the Past Is Fine Enough

0

By Brandon Scott on Dec 10th, 2025

The first issue I have with LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy—Pieces of the Past is that the title is pushing the limits of what I would expect from any piece of media, movie or otherwise. I’m going to call it Pieces of the Past for the sake of clarity, but it’s an absurd name. You have to know so much pop culture to not be confused by that cascade of nouns.

Friday Fiction: It’s Starting to Snow (Part 1)

By Brandon Scott on Dec 5th, 2025

In many places, the year’s snow season has begun. Flakes fall heavy, fast, and hypnotically. It can be a joy and a torture to deal with all of it.

The Lazarus Project Is Absolutely Incredible

The Lazarus Paradox looked like it was going to be exactly my favorite type of show.

StuGo: An Absurd Cartoon

By Brandon Scott on Dec 1st, 2025

I don’t have that much to say about StuGo. Some cartoons are made with an adult audience as possible viewers, weaving in more intense plots for fandoms to form. You know them by name, if not by experience. Avatar: The Last Airbender. The Owl House. Gravity Falls. This show is not that, at least not within the first three episodes.

The Fantastic 4: First Steps Is A Pleasant Surprise

0

By Brandon Scott on Nov 26th, 2025

The Fantastic 4: First Steps is a weird movie for anyone who isn’t already knowledgeable of the MCU. The creators just assume you know how this franchise’s alternative universes work, for one thing. And while I can appreciate not bothering with another origin story plotline, explaining how the four of them got their powers with a quick montage is also a strange choice.

Trailer Review: Hoppers

0

By Brandon Scott on Nov 24th, 2025

From this trailer, Hoppers appears to have two premises, two plotlines, and I don’t really know how to feel about the second one.
